SPRING BREAK

- from Dublin to Wales (Conwy, Swansea and Gower Peninsula)

May 25 2007, Friday: Arrived early at Dublin International Airport. Feeling lousy and cold. Downtown Dublin was crowded and suprisingly, heavy in traffic. Click here for pictures.

May 26 2007, Saturday: This morning I had to leave early for the ferry to Holyhead. As I leave the port in Holyhead, I was stopped by the immigration officers; they questioned (lots of stupid questions like 'do you speak English?' etc) my intention of going to Wales, and the luggage was seached (item by item - I should have a 1,000-year egg in my bag!). When I finally showed them my green card, they let me go. Talked about double standard! Shame on them! My train ride was enjoyable. I made a stop at Conwy. It was a pretty town. When I reached the train stop at Swansea, there she was - Chooi-Chin waiting for me. It was nice to see her again after so many years. We last met in Kuala Lumpur about 8 years ago. May 27 2007, Sunday: What a day dreadful day. The weather in Swansea was windy, rainy, and cold. But that did not deter us from going to Gower. It was an hour drive. It was worth the trip just to see the magnificent view. We had a great time - catching up and sight seeing. After a day in the cold, we sat down for a nice hot chocolate in the cafe in Swansea. May 28 2007, Monday: I left Swansea for Holyhead. Arrived in Dublin and checked into a hostel in the infamous Templer Bar. Click here.

May 29 2007, Tuesday: Went to the Guinness before my departure back to New York. Not as good as I thought it would be. (click here). Overall, it was a fun trip.
